Fresnel Lens

The Fresnel Lens is a clear, thin, flat plastic lens that is press fitted to a truck's passenger door window. Its concentric ring surface allows the driver to see directly through it, (so it's not a reflected view) with its optical properties providing a downwards view close to and around the truck's passenger door. A Fresnel Lens therefore covers this mirror blind-spot which is the cause of so many accidents.

The new EU Directive that existing goods vehicles are to be retro-fitted on the passenger side with mirrors helps cure the blind spot problem, although VOSA would still recommend the fitting of a Frensel Lens as there is still a blind spot on the passenger side and just ahead of the cab. This blind spot is large enough to hide a small family saloon car and the solution is to fit a Fresnel Lens.

The Lens is a simple, effective product and can be used on virtually any type of vehicle that is susceptible to blind spots, whether left or right hand drive. Blind spots are big enough to hide a small family saloon. The Fresnel Lens is backed by VOSA, The Department of Transport, The Highways Agency and Border & Immigration Agency.
